The organisers of Two-way Tickets: Travel, Home, and War extend a warm invitation to researchers working in the fields of travel and war. From military manoeuvres to combatants’ leave, war reportage to dark tourism, and exile to refugee experience, war entails travel. Our aim is to shape new directions for interdisciplinary discussion in a topic of current significance: how the concept of home is reassessed through travel generated by war.
Please follow the link in the menu above for a detailed Call for Papers. Proposals, which should include a title, 300 word abstract, and short biography, for a 20-minute paper, should be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org by the deadline of Monday 24th April.
There is a conference fee of £35 that will include lunch and refreshments, and which enables us to create bursaries for some graduate students. The fee has been generously subsidised by Wolfson College.
